Hoya spectatissima
Introducing Hoya spectatissima, a fascinating new plant species discovered in Yunnan Province, China. This stunning plant shares similarities with H. lyi but can be easily identified by its unique characteristics:
- It has succulent leaves, which means they are thick and fleshy, measuring between 2 to 4.5 cm in length.
- The corolla, the part of the flower that surrounds the petals, displays a lovely pink to pale pink color, setting it apart from H. lyi, which has yellowish-white corollas.
- In a top view, the corona lobes (another part of the flower) are sub-rhombic in shape, unlike the ovoid shape seen in H. lyi.
Hoya spectatissima is named to reflect its beautiful flowers.
