Hoya 'Mayumi' (UPT002) is a seed-grown variety derived from an open-pollinated Hoya 'Noelle' hailing from Puerto Rico. Among a batch of seeds from the same pod, we carefully selected what we believed to be the most exquisite and easily manageable plant. Given that our previous cultivar was named after our beloved Akita dog, Maliksi, we felt it fitting to name this one after our other dear companion, Mayumi, a Shiba Inu. In Tagalog, Mayumi translates to tender, delicate, refined in manners, humble, and modest.
In terms of care, Hoya 'Mayumi' (UPT002) is a rapid grower with medium-sized leaves. It thrives in our warm environment and appears to tolerate lower humidity well. Depending on your preference, you can grow it under direct light to bring out the beautiful colors on its leaves or under low light to achieve deep, dark green foliage.
