Hoya lithophytica

A captivating addition to any rare houseplant collection, originates from the Philippines. Discovered by Dale Kloppenburg, an esteemed horticulturist, this Hoya species is prized for its distinct foliage. The leaves are characterized by a unique pebbled texture, offering a striking appearance. This species flourishes under specific conditions, which are key to its successful cultivation:

Temperature: Prefers a warm environment, ideally between 60°F to 85°F (15°C to 29°C). It's crucial to avoid temperatures below 50°F (10°C) as it can harm the plant.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity, ideally above 60%. Consider using a humidifier or placing the plant in a naturally humid environment like a bathroom with a window.

Soil: Requires well-draining soil. A mix of orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss can create an ideal environment, allowing roots to breathe while retaining adequate moisture. NOTE: Our plants are cultivated and grown in coco husk and are thriving.

Watering: Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry. It's important to ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light can hinder growth. A spot near an east or west-facing window is ideal.

By providing these optimal conditions, Hoya lithophytica will not only thrive but may also reward you with clusters of star-shaped, fragrant flowers, a true spectacle in the world of houseplants.
