Hoya walliniana, named after Swedish Hoya collector Pierre Wallin, is a standout even among exotic plants, hailing from the lowland forests of Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak). This species was introduced to the botanical community by Dale Kloppenburg and Torill Nyhuus in 2003.
Unlike its variegated counterpart, which is known for being particularly challenging to grow, this Hoya proves to be remarkably low-maintenance. It's a fast grower and very forgiving with drought, making it a perfect candidate for both budding and seasoned plant enthusiasts who might not have the time or conditions to manage more demanding species. This Hoya doesn't just survive; it thrives with minimal fuss, rewarding growers with its resilient nature.

Unsolicited Plant Talks 34162 Avenue G, Yucaipa CA 92399
No barrier between the plant and the light source. Ex: Directly under a grow light, in a sunny window with no curtains or trees.
Low Humidity: Ideally Above 40%
This Hoya tolerates a drier environment. However, it could still benefit from light humidity care, including misting and grouping together with other houseplants. May require humidifier in cooler, drier months.
Loves Heat: Lowest 70F/21C
This hoya does not do well in cold conditions, so be sure to keep in a greenhouse or other temperature controlled space.
Does Sunstress
This plant has evolved to shift color when exposed to bright sunlight, much like a human getting a tan. This does not harm the plant with proper care.
